James F. Rice, Jr.

ASHEVILLE James Fulty Rice, Jr., 68, of 63 Bingham Road passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. Mr. Rice was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and retired as a Truck Driver with Westall-Chandley Lumber Company. He was a son of the late James Fulty Rice, Sr. and Lucy Mae Wilson Rice and was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Rice and brother, Harold Rice. Surviving are his son, Terry James Rice of Richmond, VA; daughter, Dorothy Lankford of Arden; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Conner (James) of Union Mills; brothers, Joe Rice (Anzie) of Leicester, Billy Rice (Melissa) of Weaverville, Terry Rice (Barbara) of Mountain City, TN, Jerry Rice (Vickie) of Canton, Everett Rice (Barbara) of Mountain City, TN; special friend & caregiver, Juanita Mae Ramsey and her sister, Eula Hensley both of Weaverville and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 1 to 2 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
