James David "Jim" Rogers

Asheville James David Jim Rogers, 69, of 5 Ballantree Drive, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired as an Inside Sales Representative with a Electrical Supply Company and was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the US Air Force. Mr. Rogers was the son of the late James Manuel and Clara Mae Collins Rogers and was also preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ann Presley Rogers who died May 2, 2007. Surviving are his loving partner, Judy Carver of the home; sister, Diane Tarrants and husband, Rodney of Sanford; nephew, Brian Davis and wife, Aleica and great nieces, Savannah and Mallory Davis all of Asheville; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his 2 fur children, Bogey & Birdie. Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Monday, November 28, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Collins officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the US Air Force. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.
