Fletcher - James Clayton Banks, 51, of 416 Emmas Grove Road died Thursday March 21, 2002 at his home. A native and resident of Buncombe County for most of his life, he was a son of the late Charlie Monroe Banks and Vera Leona Franklin Banks. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Banks, Jr. Surviving are his wife, Candis Foreman Banks and son Jesse Banks of the home; sons, Donald Banks, Rocky Banks and Joseph Banks all of Black Mountain; daughter, Tameral Roberts of Candler; brothers, Jerry Banks, Glenn Banks, and Jackie Banks all of Asheville; sister, Barbara Wright of Weaverville; 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jacob Ellege officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Glenn Banks, 173 Brickyard Rd., Asheville.
