James Arthur Lutz

Asheville - James Arthur Lutz, 43, of 30 Renee Rd. died Monday, September 24, 2001 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, he had lived in Buncombe County since 1969. He was a long distance truck driver with US Xpress and had worked with PST Trucking and Sayles Bleacheries. Mr. Lutz was the son of Alice Hill Lutz of Marshall and the late Robert Leroy Lutz. Surviving in addition to his mother are his daughter, Margaret Jane Lutz of Fletcher; former wife, Judy Benson of Asheville and her daughters, Heather and Kristy Benson, and Tara Diaz and husband Adam; sister, Sharon Lutz of Marshall; brothers, Gerald Lutz of Cape Cod, MA and Robert Allison Lutz of Fairview. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the Bell United Methodist Church, Leicester, with the Rev. Fred Carpenter officiating. There will be a fellowship meal immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made to the American Red Cross, 100 Edgewood Rd., Asheville, NC or to the Bell United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 36, Leicester, NC 28748.
