Jackie Ann Sams

Asheville - Jackie Ann Sams, cherished daughter, sister and aunt, passed away in Asheville after a long battle with cancer on Sunday November 14, 2004 at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center. Jackie was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County, graduated from Asheville High School in 1970 and was the daughter of the late Archie Thomas Sams. She Formerly was employed at Mission Hospital, J&S Cafeteria and Grove Park Inn and was a member of the Asheville Wesleyan Church. Jackies light was brightest when she shared her love with others. Jackie is survived by her loving mother, Myrtle Sams Pinner with whom she made her home; brothers, Carroll Sams and wife Carolyn of Asheville and Randy Pinner and wife Debra of Hendersonville; sisters, Doris Stultz and husband James of Myrtle Beach, SC. and Gladys Foster and husband James of Candler; aunt, Agnes Ellison of Asheville; step-father, Edwin Pinner of Candler; 3 nephews, 3 nieces and 3 great nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Little officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Brian Harper, Paul Urguhart, Justin Pinner, Paul Ballard, Tommy Dorsey and Ed Swims serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
