Jack Walker

January 23, 1940 — March 10, 2017

Candler Jack Harley Walker, 77, of 283 Morgan Road passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at his home. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was retired in the 1990s from Silverline Plastics Co. where he had served as a truck driver for over 20 years. Mr. Walker was a son of the late Elmer Leonard Walker and Mary Ada Redmon Walker and was also preceded in death by his step-son, Roger Wise, brother, Charles Walker and sister, Ivory Sue Walker. Surviving are his wife Jolene Waycaster Walker with whom they married in 1986; daughters, Janet Sheppard of Woodfin and Jackie Cantrell (Roger) of Leicester; step-children, Gary Wise (Vickie) of Arden, Sue Wise of Asheville, Bobby Wise (Barbara) of Morganton and Lisa Brown (Jay) of Dunn; brother, James Walker (Loretta) of Asheville; 3 grand children, Tanner, Samantha and Brittney and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren by marriage including his special great granddaughter (Kinley) and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Willis and Jeffrey Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2pm Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, P.O.
