Jack Ray Worley

Leicester - Jack Ray Worley, 66, died Saturday January 8, 2011 at his home after a 4 month battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Alexander and had retired from Square D after 40 years of service. He was a son of the late T.H. and Ruby Worley and was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Worley and grandson, Matthew Guthrie. Surviving are his wife, Diane Worley of the home, daughter, Lisa Guthrie and husband Randy of Leicester; son, Bryan Worley and wife Tracy of Enoree, SC; brothers, James "CD" Worley and wife Joanna and Wayne Worley and wife Jeanette; grandchildren, Jonathan Worley and Gracie Guthrie: great grandchildren, Haley, Avery and Eliot Jones and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Cedar Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Roy McPeters, Harold Rash and Bill Jolly officiating. The body will be placed in the church 1 hour before services. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
