Jack M. Lawrence

Asheville Jack Millender Lawrence, 80, of 35 Griffing Blvd, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Aston Park Health Care Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired July 24, 2006 from WLOS-TV following 49 years of service, and at the time of his retirement, was a Director. He was a loving grandfather and was loved by everyone that knew him. Mr. Lawrence was the son of the late Paul and Dorothy Kuykendall Lawrence and husband of Lillian Lil Pack Lawrence who died March 25, 2017. Surviving are his son, Michael Mike Lawrence and wife, Amalia of Asheville; grandchildren, Anastasia Lawrence, Paul Lawrence and Alexandra Lawrence all of Asheville and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, November 20, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Rash officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Trinity Baptist Church, 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
