Jack Lee Deaton

July 18, 1940 — September 14, 2021

Candler – Jack Lee Deaton, 81, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at his home. A native of Rome, GA, Mr. Deaton had lived in Buncombe County for most of his life. He worked as a car salesman, and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He will always be remembered as a jokester who loved to make people laugh. Mr. Deaton was the son of the late Fred and Clara Striplin Deaton Shelton. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Sluder and Ann Wilson, and brothers: Carl Deaton, Leo Deaton, Danny Deaton, and Terry Spratlin. Surviving are his daughter, Jackie Fullbright and husband Rickey; grandchildren: Madison Fullbright, Eli Fullbright, and Bentley Cooper; former wife, Pamela Moore; brother-in-law, Jim Sluder; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 25, 2021 in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM At the funeral home.
