ASHEVILLE - JACK EVERETT ANDERSON, 75, OF 1650 GORMAN BRIDGE ROAD DIED SATURDAY FEBRUARY 17, 2001 AT MEMORIAL MISSION HOSPITAL AFTER AN EXTENDED ILLNESS. A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF BUNCOMBE COUNTY. HE WAS A WW II AIR FORCE VETERAN AND HAD RETIRED FROM OTEEN V.A. HOSPITAL. HE WAS A MEMBER OF CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH AND WEST ASHEVILLE MASONIC LODGE #665. HE WAS THE SON OF THE LATE MARK AND LOTTIE ANDERS ANDERSON. HE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS SISTERS, PAULINE A. ANDERSON, WENNONAH SMITH AND VIRGINIA STACKHOUSE AND A BROTHER OAKLEY ANDERSON. SURVIVING ARE HIS SONS, JACK ANDERSON AND HIS WIFE LINDA OF ASHEVILLE AND MARK ANDERSON OF THE HOME; GRANDDAUGHTERS, MELISSA AND STEPHANIE ANDERSON; SISTER BARBARA A. MOORE OF ASHEVILLE; BROTHERS, LUTHER B. ANDERSON, SR., CHARLES W. ANDERSON AND CARL R. ANDERSON ALL OF ASHEVILLE AND SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS. FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 P.M. TUESDAY AT ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME WITH THE REV. BUDDY CORBIN OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE AT BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY WITH MILITARY GRAVESIDE RITES CONDUCTED BY THE BUNCOMBE COUNTY VETERANS COUNCIL/VOLUNTEER MEMORIAL TEAM. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FROM 7 TO 8:30 P.M. MONDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME AND AT OTHER TIMES WILL BE AT THE HOME OF JACK AND LINDA ANDERSON, 1664 GORMAN BRIDGE ROAD, ASHEVILLE. MEMORIALS MAY BE MADE TO: MOUNTAIN CARE ADULT DAY SERVICES CENTER, 68-A SWEETEN CREEK ROAD, ASHEVILLE, NC 28803.
