JACK BURGIN "J. B." LUTHER, 58, OF 119 N. BEAR CREEK RD. WENT HOME TO BE WITH THE LORD ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 5, 2001 AT MEMORIAL MISSION HOSPITAL. MR. BURGIN WAS A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF BUNCOMBE COUNTY AND WAS OF THE BAPTIST FAITH. HE WAS THE BELOVED SON OF THE LATE FURMAN MELVIN LUTHER AND NELL MAE BANKS LUTHER. HE IS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS BROTHER AND SISTER-IN-LAW, G. MELVIN LUTHER AND MARY LUTHER. SURVIVING ARE HIS SISTER, RUBY CLEMENT OF THE HOME; BROTHER, LEROY LUTHER OF ASHEVILLE; NEPHEWS, MICHAEL LUTHER OF MICHIGAN, DANNY LUTHER OF VIRGINIA, ROGER LUTHER OF SOUTH CAROLINA, STEVE ATKINS OF WEAVERVILLE AND ANDY ATKINS OF ASHEVILLE; NIECES, ROBIN DAVIDSON OF NEW MEXICO, TERESA CAMILLI OF PENNSYLVANIA, LISA WILLIAMS AND VIKKI MOORE BOTH OF MICHIGAN, TONI FORRESTER OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND FURNELL WARREN OF ARDEN AND SEVERAL GREAT NIECES AND NEPHEWS. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 1:30 PM SUNDAY IN THE ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL WITH THE REVS. VINCE KEITH AND LEE DAVIS OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN THE SMITH FAMILY CEMETERY. HONORARY PALLBEARERS WILL BE RODNEY HENDRIX AND GARY HARNESS. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FROM 7 UNTIL 9 PM SATURDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME. AT OTHER TIMES THE FAMILY WILL BE AT THE RESIDENCE.
