Jack A. Burgin

Asheville Jack Augustus Burgin, 59, of 129 Marietta Street passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He was employed with Bill Burgin Real Estate and was formerly a Long Distance Truck Driver and Heavy Equipment Operator. Mr. Burgin served in the U.S. Navy and was a son of the late William Cecil Burgin, Sr. and Emma Inez Greene Burgin. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Sheehan. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Rebecca Susann Becky Boone Burgin of the home; daughter, Amy Fite and husband Neal of Fairview; grandchildren, Harmony and Christopher; brother, Bill Burgin and wife Darcelle of Biltmore; niece, Mary; great niece, Samantha and her son, Colt. Memorial services will be held 1:30 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. James I. Walker officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Grandview Baptist Church Cemetery, Madison County.
