Irene Lois Lunsford

Pisgah Forrest - Irene Lois Moss Lunsford, 74, of 8-C Melglen Farms went to be with her Lord Friday, May 7, 2004 at Park Ridge Living Center following a period of declining health. A native and resident most of her life of Buncombe County, she had resided in McDowell County for a number of years and had resided in Transylvania County for the past 10 years. Mrs. Lunsford was formerly employed as a seamstress with Mills Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Barnardsville Church of God. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Grimes Moss and Evie Evelyn Hyder Moss and was also preceded in death by her step sisters, Bessie Whittemore and Mary Etta Dodd. Surviving are her husband, Conley Curtis Lunsford of the home; daughters, Barbara Lunsford of Pisgah Forest, Pat Rice of Hickory and Mary Towe of Candler; sons, Bobby Lunsford of Pisgah Forest, David Lunsford of Marion, Kenneth Lunsford of Mars Hill and Wayne Lunsford of Pisgah Forest, 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Velma Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery with her Grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
