Ilah Wiggins Devlin

May 25, 1909 — July 15, 2002

Leicester - Ilah Enula Devlin, 93, of 1049 Alexander Road died Monday July 15, 2002 at St. Josephs Hospital after an extended illness. A native of Swain County, she had lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a daughter of the late Columbus Wiggins and Laura Weeks Wiggins and the wife of the late Walter Albert Devlin and was also preceded in death by 5 brothers. Surviving are her daughters, Betty Williams of Leicester, Doris Plemmons of St. Cloud, Fl. and Annette Lovingood and husband Tom of Enka; sons, Kenneth Devlin and wife Patti of Orlando, Fl., Carroll Devlin and wife Veda of St. Cloud, Fl., Dwight Devlin of Sarasota, Fl. and Larry Devlin and wife Debb of Sarasota, Fl.; sister, Gertrude Stuart of Canton; 26 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Plemmons officiating. Burial will be in Bon-A-Venture Cemetery with Jack Lovingood, David Lovingood, Kenneth Penland, Jimmy Devlin, Ronnie Devlin, Kenny Lee Devlin, Gary Plemmons, Gary Latham and Gilbert Karn serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
