Hubert Rogers

Alexander Hubert Albert Rogers, 85, of 479 Curtis Parker Road, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired in 1995 from Floyd S. Pike Electrical Contractors where he served as a crew leader following 17 years of service. He was a member of Community Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Rogers was the son of the late Dewey Rogers and Jeanette Nettie Buckner Rogers. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, whom he married December 13, 1952, Virginia Jennie Charlene Sluder Rogers of the home; sons, Steve Rogers and wife, Vicki of Alexander, Larry Rogers and wife, Jenny of Leicester and Hubert Rogers, Jr. of Treadway, TN; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 12, 2018 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Sprinkle, Rev. Mike Freeman and Rev. Dean Rice officiating. Burial will follow in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
