Howard Penley

West Asheville – Howard Penley, 91, of 20 Olney Road, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired from Chesterfield Mills. Mr. Penley was the son of the late Luther Penley and Bessie Jones Penley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Ellen Rowe Penley who died March 6, 2020; daughters, Angela Smith and Kay Elkins; sister, Dorothy Connor; brothers, Troy Penley, Harold Penley and Doyle Penley. Surviving are his daughter, Delana Worley (Ronnie) of Mars Hill; numerous grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Monday, November 22, 2021 at Jones Family Cemetery, Smith Graveyard Road (off Eliada Home Rd), with Rev. Billy Dodd officiating.
