Hope King Mills

Hope King Mills, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2016 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Horace M. King and Daisy Mae Haney King. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Tony Mills, Sr.; and brothers: Donald Haney, Bobby King, and Jim King. Mrs. Mills was a member of Oakley Freewill Baptist Church for the past 25 years, and a graduate of Biltmore High School. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and being a caregiver for her family and friends. She held a special place in her heart for her two grandsons. Surviving are her children: Richard Tony Mills, Jr. of Asheville, Robin Mills of Asheville, and Randy Mills of Black Mountain; grandsons: Randall Ryan Mills, and Richard Dylan Mills; brothers: Sam King and wife Sandy of Alexander, Earl King and wife Linda of Asheville, and Scott King of Canton; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 11, 2016, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
