ASHEVILLE - HOMER SANFORD DAVIS, 67, DIED AS HE LIVED, A CHRISTIAN, ON SATURDAY JULY 21, 2001 AT THE MAGNOLIA HEALTH CARE CENTER AFTER A PERIOD OF DECLINING HEALTH. HE WAS A NATIVE AND LIFELONG RESIDENT OF BUNCOMBE COUNTY AND A MEMBER OF PLEASANT HILL BAPTIST CHURCH. HE WAS THE SON OF LOIS BOWERS DAVIS OF ASHEVILLE AND THE LATE BENNIE HOMER DAVIS. HE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS BROTHERS, GENE AND JERRY DAVIS. SURVIVING ARE HIS DAUGHTER, ARLIE CLARK AND HER HUSBAND JIMMY AND THEIR SON CHRIS CLARK OF LEICESTER; NIECE MICHELE DAVIS OF WOODFIN; SEVERAL AUNTS, UNCLES AND COUSINS. FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 A.M. TUESDAY AT ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL WITH THE REV. EBB JENKINS OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE AT PLEASANT HILL BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY.
