Hollis Williams

Asheville – Hollis Rodney Williams, 70, passed away early on Sunday, October 3, 2021. A native of Columbus, GA, Mr. Williams had resided in Buncombe County since 1990. Over the years, he worked for Emory University, Grove Park Inn, and CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital. He went to art school in Atlanta and continued his interest in visual arts throughout his life. Mr. Williams enjoyed writing, hiking, and gardening, and was a devoted family man. He loved to make people laugh. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Barney D. and Priscilla Van Marter Williams. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Harrelson; and daughters: Jamie Harrelson and Amber Harrelson-Williams (and spouse Perry Ellwood). A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Public Radio, 73 Broadway, Asheville, NC 28801. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mr. Williams’ family with his arrangements.
