Henry "Sandy" Jackson

Asheville - Henry Sanford Sandy Jackson, III died Tuesday July 13, 2004 at his home after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Asheville, he was a 1965 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He had been the secretary of the Mtn. City Handicapped Bowling League for over 20 years. He was the son of the late Henry Sanford Jackson II and Pearl Williams Jackson. Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann Ball Jackson of the home; sons, Steven Jackson of the home and Mike Jackson and wife Amber of Asheville; 2 grandchildren, his pride and joy, Dalton and Savannah Jackson of Asheville; Uncle, James C. Williams of Columbia, SC.; aunt, Nancy A. Williams of Morganton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Ball of Asheville and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James R. and Lupe Ball of Milwaukee, WI. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
