Helen Rector Parham

Asheville - Helen Rector Parham, 84, died Sunday, August 18, 2002 at the Brian Center following an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mrs. Parham was a former License Practical Nurse and did Private Duty nursing. She was the daughter of the late Chris and Lilly Laster Rector and the wife of the late James Allen Parham. Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Ann Evans of Asheville; sons, Rex Parham of Asheville, Charles Parham of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Larry Parham of Baskerville, Virginia and Robert Parham of Asheville; half-brothers, Thomas Gaddy of Asheville and John Gaddy of Tampa, Fl.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. R. E. Conner and Jim Belt officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
