Helen Littrell Skelton

Fletcher - Helen Littrell Skelton, 78, of Rt. #1 Box 413, Concord Road died Monday, September 3, 2001 at Park Ridge Hospital following a period of declining health. A native of Madison County. She had resided in Buncombe County most of her life and was the daughter of the late Rev. Charlie Oscar Littrell and Allie Mae Marlow Littrell. Mrs. Skelton was a Caregiver and Provider for many families in the Asheville area. She attended Abernethy United Methodist Church and along with her husband served as a volunteer for 11 years with the Asheville V.A. Medical Center. She was an active member for many years of the Ladies Auxillary of the VFW Post # 891 where she served as President for 2 years. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Wade B. Skelton of the home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Patrick Welch officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
