Helen G. Devine

Swannanoa - Helen Geraldine Lane Devine, 91, of 39 Honeycomb Circle died Thursday March 1, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital after a short illness. A native of Morganton, she resided in Buncombe County most of her life , having resided in Michigan for 11 years. She was formerly employed with Deerfield Retirement Center and was a member of Swannanoa Church of God. She was a daughter of the late James Franklin and Callie Magdeline Poteet Lane and the wife of the late Maurice Aubrey Devine who died in 1967. Surviving are her sons, Max E. Walker and wife Nancy of Wichita, KS and Joe B. Walker and wife Chris of Cornelia, GA; daughter, Elaine Kuzma and husband Ray of Plymouth, MI; sister, Madge Simpson and husband Frank of West Asheville; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Stoy Lankford officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
