Hazel W. Barker

Dandridge, TN – Hazel Nell Woolley Barker, 85, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Jefferson Park Nursing Center in Dandridge, TN. A native of Wilton, AL, Mrs. Barker had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was formerly employed with First Union National Bank as an Assistant Trust Officer, and was employed by the Buncombe County Clerk of Courts Office, as an Assistant Clerk in the Estate’s Division. She was a member of Emma United Methodist Church. Mrs. Barker was the daughter of the late Adrian Reid Woolley, Sr., and Nell Pauline Woolley. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Adrian Reid Woolley, Jr. Surviving are her husband, Cecil James Barker, whom she married December 6, 1957; sons: David James Barker and wife Francine and Darryl Reid Barker and wife Sara Emily; twin grandchildren: Ethan and Lauren Barker; and sister, Annette W. Gallamore. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with the Rev. Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Emma United Methodist Church, PO Box 6921, Asheville, NC 28816. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mrs. Barker’s family with arrangements.
