Hazel Louise Wallace Lipe

Fletcher – Hazel Louise Wallace Lipe, 95, passed away on July 10, 2023, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center in Candler, North Carolina.

A lifelong resident of Asheville and Fletcher, Mrs. Lipe was a daughter of the late Emory and Connie Wallace, and wife of the late Lucius Allen Lipe, Jr. She was preceded in death by her infant children, Priscilla and George, grandson, Chris Lipe, daughter-in-law, Linda Lipe, and six siblings, Eileen Wallace Johnson, Laura Wallace Ashton, Leila Wallace Schwartz, Arvalee Wallace Ray, James Calvin Wallace, and Donald Simpson Wallace. She is survived by her three sons, Ronald Phillip Lipe and wife Marsha, Mark Randall Lipe, and Morris Anthony Lipe; five grandchildren, Stephanie Lipe King and husband Barry, MAJ Bryan Zebulon Lipe and wife Hyejin, Jessica Nicole Lipe and Jeremy Hinshaw, Madeline Clark Lipe, J.D. and fiancé John Williams, and Marshall Hunt Lipe and wife Katie; and four great grandchildren, Holden Welch King, Lena Olivia Lipe, Hazel Autumn Hinshaw, and Amelia Rose Hinshaw.

Mrs. Lipe worked as a waitress for Bucks Restaurant on Tunnel Road and was employed at Crown Petroleum. She attended church at Riverview Baptist Church, was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and volunteered time with the Charles George V.A. Hospital.

Mrs. Lipe enjoyed taking care of her dog, T. C., watching old westerns on television, reading western novels by Louis L’Amour, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and working in her flower garden. She loved cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for her family and was always ready for a good game of cards.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Waldroup officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 12:30-2:00 PM prior to services at the funeral home.
