Hattie Fox Redmon

July 19, 1938 — August 18, 2024

Asheville – Hattie Mae Fox Redmon, 86, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 18, 2024, peacefully at her home.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Woodard Oral Fox and Zelma Odessa Clark Fox, and the wife of the late Edgebert Ulus Redmon, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Frances Greene and husband Chester, and Faye Hawkins and husband Cecil; and brothers: Fred Fox and wife Sue, Rex Fox, and Bob Fox and wife Wanda.

Hattie had a deep faith and love for The Lord. She enjoyed worship and fellowship with her church family at West Asheville Baptist Church.

She was a dedicated employee of State Farm Insurance for over 50 years and worked there until the time of her death. For the past 16 years, she loved those she worked with at the Augie Tammariello Agency.

Second only to her love for Jesus was her deep and unconditional love for her family, especially her daughter, granddaughters, and great grandchildren who she considered all to be her pride and joy.

While those she leaves behind are saddened by her passing, comfort is found in knowing she is reunited with her loving husband Ed, whom she was married to for almost 56 years at the time of his death in 2015.

Her interests included her flower garden, reading her Bible, cooking, and front porch visits with her friends and neighbors.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl Redmon Jones and husband Butch; granddaughters: Ashley Jones Little and husband Tyler, and Baily Jones Bailey; great-grandchildren: Grayson Little, Connor Little, Caroline Little, and Cooper Bailey; sister-in-law, Doris Fox; special nieces: Kaye Thornton and husband Chuck, and Emily Thornton; special nephew, Chris McKenzie and wife Kim; special friend, Dee Gordon and husband Raymond; beloved cat, Gordy; and by many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 till 2 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Butch Jones, Tyler Little, Chris McKenzie, Chuck Thornton, Randy Sluder, and Raymond Gordon. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Grayson Little, Connor Little, and Cooper Bailey.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Erwin Hills Lion’s Club, 188 Erwin Hills Rd, Asheville, NC 28806.
