Harry Rice

Asheville Harry Lee Rice, 73, of Asheville, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and resident of Buncombe County for most of his life, Mr. Rice was a 1959 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School, and received his B.S. degree from N.C. State University. He retired in 2007 from Kearfott as an Electronics Engineer following 49 years of service. Mr. Rice was also an avid ham radio operator. Mr. Rice was the son of the late George Lee and Opal Lovena Caldwell Rice, and was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Rice and wife Sharon. Surviving are his sister, Irma West and husband Nathan of Asheville; brother, Roger Rice and wife Ann; and several nieces and nephews. No services are planned at this time.
