Harry B. Grooms

Asheville - Harry Bo Grooms, 87, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 25, 2016 at his home. A native of Madison County, Mr. Grooms was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church, where he served as the former Out Leader of the Chapel Sunday School Class. He was the son of the late William Walter and Bonnie Baldwin Grooms. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Estelle Carswell Grooms, of the home; daughters: Patricia Grooms Forbes and Jean Grooms Trantham and husband Charles, all of Asheville; two grandchildren: Stacie Gleesing and husband Daniel of Tennessee, and Chuck Trantham and wife August of Nevada; two great-grandchildren: Natalie and Jackson; sister: Velma Riddle of Virginia; and brother, Lawrence Grooms of Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller and Rev. Larry Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 2:45 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
