Harold "Wayne" Connor

Harold “Wayne” Connor, 59, born on January 4, 1964, went to his eternal home on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Memorial Mission Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Wayne was a son of the Sheila Cabe Connor and the late Harold Oneal Connor. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his nephew, Ken Wiggins; best-friend and brother-in-law, Kim “Wig” Wiggins.

Wayne was a longtime member of White Rock Baptist Church. He loved his family and was always looking for ways to make others happy with his comedic personality and his special way of recreating songs to brighten others.

Wayne is survived by his mother, Sheila Cabe Connor; daughters: Whitney Hensley and husband Dusty, Erin Smart and husband Chad, and Valerie Connor and husband Cody; grandchildren: Payton, Weston, Ariana, and Sutton; brothers: Neal Connor, and Eric Connor; special nieces and nephew: Sierra, Blake, and Kayla; beloved dog, Colby; and many extended family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at White Rock Baptist Church, 20 White Rock Church Rd, Candler, NC 28715, with Pastors Brad Parker and Jeff Massey officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday immediately following the service at the church.
