Harold Roger "Butch" Biddix

June 24, 1948 — April 2, 2009

Fletcher - Harold Roger Butch Biddix, 60, of 325 Clover Drive, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he served as a policeman for the City of Asheville for 11 years, managed Allied Security Forces for 9 years, and operated H&S Snax for the past 10 years. Butch was a member of Gashes Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and taught the Mens Bible Sunday School Class for many years. He enjoyed traveling and listening to his scanners. Butch was the son of Alice Eubanks Biddix of Asheville and the late Floyd Biddix. In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Shelia Marlowe Biddix, of the home; step-mother, Betty M. Biddix of Fletcher; and a sister, Marion Putnam of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at Gashes Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ed Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Gashes Creek Baptist Church Youth Fund, 308 Gashes Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Biddix family.
