Harold Hoss

November 21, 1932 — February 1, 2015

Leicester Harold Leroy Hoss, 82, of 61 Green Acres Drive, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at his home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was formerly employed for 30 years with Taylor & Murphy Construction Company as a heavy equipment operator. He played with several Gospel Quartets, was a licensed Pilot, was a member of Ridge Runner Motorcycle Club, was a member of Luther Pentecostal Holiness Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Hoss was the son of the late Mary Jane King Hoss and was also preceded in death by his wife, June Nevada Hoss who died in 1992. Surviving are his wife whom he married August 30, 2008, Shirley Marie Pressley Hoss of the home; children, Harmon Hoss and wife Debra of Asheville, Cathy Davis and husband Rick of Weaverville, James Hoss of Asheville, Melody Parham and husband Ricky of Candler and Dean Cook of Morristown, TN; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Luther Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Betty Drake, Rev. Neil Pressley and Rev. James Donati officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park with military honors to be conducted by the NC National Guard. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
