Harold Ball

Mars Hill - Harold Ball, 66, of 14353 U.S. 23 died Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the Mission Campus of Memorial Mission Hospitals following an extended illness. A native of Madison County. He lived in Buncombe County most of his life and retired from the City of Asheville after 33 years of service as a Professional Garbologist. He was a son of the late John Logan Ball and Althea Roberts Ball. Surviving are his sons, Harold Lee Ball of Oteen, Donald Ray Ball of Black Mountain, Dewayne Ball of Asheville, Charles Porky Ball of Mars Hill; daughter, Denise Ball Plemmons of Leicester; 3 sisters; 8 brothers; 12 grandchildren and one great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry White officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Asheville, NC 28801.
