Grady William Rice

Marshall - Grady William Rice, 78, of 104 North Main St. died Saturday, August 3, 2002 at Mission/St. Josephs Heath System after a period of declining health. He was a native of Buncombe County and had lived there for most of his life. He was the son of the late Willard Boyd and Alice Elkins Rice. He is survived by his wife Virginia Woody Rice of the home; daughters, Ruth Ledford of Weaverville, Wanda Bearden, Delores Harper and Alice Cruz all of Asheville; a step-son, Donnie Roberts of Weaverville; sisters, Thelma Williams of Charlotte and Ruth Watson of Mt. Pleasant, SC; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Marshall Fire Department and especially to Raymond Crowe for all their help.
