Gopal Das Gupta

Gopal Das Gupta, 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025 in his home in Asheville, NC. Gopal lived a beautiful life, filled with so much love and joy. He was the son of Hem Devi and Chandrabhan Gupta. He will be missed dearly by his wife Susham; his children, Shawn and Michelle; their spouses, Vesna and Chris; his 6 grandchildren, Dunja, Jaiden, Vuk, Luca, Visnija and Maya; his 4 brothers, Sant, Raghuvir, Sudhir and Mohan; and all of his extended family.

Gopal, also known as Dad/Dadu/Nanu, was born in Mehrut, India and moved to the US when he was 21. He spent most of his life in East Hanover, NJ surrounded by lots of family and friends. He was a brilliant engineer, with a love for science, music, singing, dancing and playing tennis. He loved to travel and went on many incredible trips exploring the world with his family. He was an incredibly caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all.

His funeral and cremation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Anders-Rice Funeral Home in Asheville, NC.
