Glonnie Turbyfill

Asheville Glonnie Dale Turbyfill, 66, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired in 2015 from Verizon Telephone Company where he served as an Engineer following 35 years of service. He was a 1968 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School. Mr. Turbyfill was a son of the late Earl Daniel Turbyfill and Lois Lunsford Turbyfill. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Grace and brother, Jerry Turbyfill. Surviving are his wife whom he married July 19, 1968, Carolyn Austin Turbyfill of the home; son, Chris Turbyfill of Leicester; daughter, Lynn Turbyfill of Asheville; grandchildren, Adam, Mason, Bryce, Madison and Allison; sisters, Janet McFee (Eddie) of Fairview and Barbara Henderson (Harold) of Fletcher; sister-in-law, Teena Turbyfill of Asheville; brother, Kirt Turbyfill (Audrey) of Leicester and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, May 4, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Boone officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times, the family will be at the home of the daughter, Lynn Turbyfill, 32 Turbyfill Lane, Asheville.
