Candler - Glenn Reid Knick, 72, passed away on Wednesday October 16th, 2024, at the V.A. Hospital in Salisbury, North Carolina. Born May 10th, 1952, in Lexington Virginia, he was the son of the late Earl Lyndon Knick and Sarah Ruth Zachary Knick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Daniel Robert Knick, Lynda Lee Rewis, and Cynthia Janice Ashford. Surviving are his beloved wife of 30 years Susan Turner Knick, treasured daughters Molly Knick and Megan Webster, son-in-law Jeff Webster, and many much loved nieces and nephews.
Glenn was raised in Asheville and returned again after living for many years in various states, primarily Georgia. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and later worked at the Charles George V.A. Medical Center for 27 years, where he was known and loved by many.
Glenn was a man of faith, a gifted gardener, a stargazer, a hiker who held dear these mountains, and a lover of music with eclectic taste. He was also fan of NASCAR, Duke basketball, and especially his Georgia Bulldogs. Glenn was cherished and will be deeply missed by friends and family.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date, with final resting at the veterans cemetery in Black Mountain. Anyone wishing to honor his memory may donate to the U.S. National Park Service in his name.
