Glenda Faye Coward Davis

Asheville – Glenda Faye Coward Davis, 78, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Stonecreek Health and Rehab Center.

A native and lifelong resident of Western North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Ronald Coward and Bonnie Sarah Rhinehart Coward. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ann Henderson; and grandchildren: Austin Davis and Sandy Torrey.

Mrs. Davis worked for many years as a pre-school teacher at the Calvary Baptist Church Child Enrichment Center and Stay and Play Day Care in West Asheville. Glenda loved children and took pride in her teaching.

Glenda loved the beach and enjoyed many family vacations in Myrtle Beach. She also enjoyed having a flower garden in her backyard and many pet cats and dogs through the years. She spent many hours researching her family history and studying genealogy. Glenda was very proud of her children and all of their accomplishments, but the love of her life was her husband, Raymond.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Raymond Oscar Davis; children: Sherry Davis Noto and husband Joe, Lori Davis, Raymond Oscar Davis, Jr. and wife MaryJane, and Scott Davis and wife Tanya; grandchildren: Anthony Noto and wife Natalie, Emily Martin and husband Jacob, Joshua Davis-Peterson, Isaac Davis-Peterson, Chandler Davis and wife Ashley, Dalton Davis and wife Kenzie, Jasmine Davis, Leighton Davis, Sofia Davis, and Lara Davis; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Torrey, Carter Love, Cayson Love, and Cecelia Noto; sister, Evelyn Riddle and husband Mack; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A time to celebrate Glenda’s life will be held from 2 till 4 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
