Gladys Buckner Graham

Gladys Louise Buckner Graham, 92, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at her home. A native of Madison County, she had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was formerly employed with Square D Corp, served as foster parents with the N.C. Childrens Baptist Home, was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church and for over 35 years, served as a Sunday School teacher with three different churches in the Asheville area. She was a participant of the CarePartners PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) for the past 2 years. Mrs. Graham was the daughter of the late Augustus Elmore Buckner and Lola Carter Buckner. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Elroy Buckner and sister, Hazel Kent. Surviving are her husband whom she married October 13, 1951, Roy Fred Graham of the home; daughters: Karen Graham and Janice B. Graham both of Alexander; foster son, Henry Beheler and wife Anita of Gastonia; brother, Frank Buckner and wife Grace of Alexander; sister-in-law, Ethel Tolley of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Clark Henderson and Rev. Wesley Pike officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
