Gerald Sluder

Leicester Gerald Henry Sluder, 77, of 1579 Bear Creek Road passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired in 1997 from BASF after 35 years of service where he served as a Fork Truck Operator. Mr. Sluder was the son of the late Mark and Mary Alberta Israel Sluder. Surviving are his sisters, Dorothy Hensley and Cora Fay Rash and her husband Millard all of Leicester and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Phillips and Rev. Paul Sluder officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
