Gerald Clark

July 23, 1925 — April 11, 2017

Asheville Gerald M. Clark passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Mr. Clark was born July 23, 1925 in Madison County to the late Hanible and Alma Clark of the East Fork-Bee Tree area. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Geneva Rice Clark and grandson, Michael. Mr. Clark was a WWII veteran of the US Navy, training with the Scouts and Raider Team Roger 2 and serving in the Amphibious Forces. He was a Christian Lay Pastor, serving in various ministries, including the Yancey County area. He retired from the Insurance industry and continued doing tax accounting work until his death. He was a much-loved dad, granddad and great granddad. Mr. Clark is survived by his sons, Alan, Charles (Susan), Larry (Judi), Philip (Brenda), Greg (Leslie); grandchildren, Anne-Marie (Rusty), Jeremy (Alisha), Suzanne (Chris), Savannah, Paul, Scott, Vijay and Ravi; great-grandchildren, Evan, Daria, Annabel, Colt, Nathan, Landon, and Maggie; nieces and nephews, Barbara and Colleen Sneed, Gary Rice and Debbie Brown; daughter-in-law, Anne Blankenship and Jamie Clark. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, April 14, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Bridges and Pastor Patrick Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Peek-Dill Cemetery in the East Fork Community of Madison County. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Friday prior to services at the funeral home.
