Georgia Dover

Asheville Georgia Bell Ramsey Dover, 89, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. Born the second oldest of thirteen children, Mrs. Dover was a native of Buncombe County, and retired as a seamstress from Mills Manufacturing. She was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Dover was the daughter of the late William Ralph and Frances Louise Sawyer Ramsey, and the wife of the late Joseph Harrison Dover, who passed away in 1969. She was also preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. Surviving are her children: Joseph Dawson Dover, Robert Harrison Dover, Michael Fate Dover and wife Anita, Daniel Jackson Dover and wife Charlene, and Melissa Elaine Dover Wheeler and husband Vance; grandchildren: Scott Eugene Hare, Julie Ann Shinn, Ashley Brooke McKee, Trent Jeremiah Dover, Kevin Joseph Dover, Samantha Lodgek, Rachel Trotter, Michael Dover, Emily Dover, and Max Wheeler; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Glenn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clark Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 12:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
