George Raymond Huntley

Leicester - George Raymond Huntley, 61, passed away suddenly, Friday January 24, 2003 at his residence. He was a native of Buncombe County and had resided in Sacramento, CA for 25 years prior to returning to Buncombe County in 1985. He was the son of the late Robert Huntley and Ora Cauble Huntley. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and retired after 22 years of service with the Florin Fire Department in Sacramento, CA as a captain. He is survived by his wife, Alda Green Huntley; daughter, Marla Huntley of Oregon; two sons, Mark Huntley of Texas and Brian Huntley of CA; two step-daughters, Vickie Wyatt and husband, Randy of Asheville and Lorinda Cuthbertson of Asheville; one granddaughter; two step grandchildren; two sisters, Bobbie Huntley of Fairview and Marjorie Rice of San Diego, CA; four aunts, one nephew and several nieces. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Faith Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Enka, with Rev. Charles Rogers officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team.
