Arden George Earl James, 95, of 125 Christ School Road, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 28, 2016 at his home. A native of Buncombe County and resident for most of his life, he retired in March of 1986 from ABF Truckline, was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and was a WWII veteran of the US Navy. Mr. James was the son of the late Floyd Eugene James and Agnes Ottela Taylor James and was also preceded in death by his son, Thomas Earl James. Surviving are his wife, Thelma Marie Rice James of the home; son, Floyd Anthony (Tony) James and wife Betty of Manassas, VA; daughter-in-law, Donna James of High Point; step daughter, Irma P. Grimm and husband Ralph of State College, PA; grandsons, Patrick Christopher James and Russell Andrew James; step grandchildren, Richard Byrd and Pamela Roman and step great grandsons, Mario and Michael Roman. Memorial services will be held at 6 PM Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Salvation Army Church, 750 Haywood Road, with Major Mark Satterlee and Major Leonard Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the church. Interment of his urn will be 1pm Friday, April 1, 2016 at Calvary Churchyard in Fletcher by his family.
