Geneva Tensley Landers

Alexander - Geneva Tensley Landers, 44, of 224 Flint Hill Road, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 18, 2010 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of The Upper Room Baptist Church. She loved to go to the beach, and enjoyed homemaking as well as activities with her daughter. Geneva was the daughter of John W. Tensley of Asheville and Nancy House Thomas and husband Edward Hall of Alexander. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Rutherford, of the home; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alf Miller and Rev. Jack Presnell officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
