Geneva Mae Mckinney Moore Chandler

September 12, 1934 — September 9, 2023

Heaven gained another angel today on Saturday, September 9, 2023, our beautiful mom Geneva Mae McKinney Moore Chandler.

Geneva Mae McKinney Moore Chandler was born on September 12, 1934, in Hendersonville NC to the late James Ernest McKinney and Myrtle Lula Sherlin McKinney.

Geneva Mae McKinney Moore Chandler was a Christian woman, who loved her family deeply. She was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother who was affectionately known to her grandchildren as “Granny Bear”. We are so thankful that she is no longer suffering, but we will all miss her and her beautiful smile along with all the stories and laughter that she shared with us. She told us to always put God first in our lives and that she would miss us all. Her last job was at Beacon Manufactory in Swannanoa.

She is preceded in death by her first late husband, Tom Carson Moore, Sr, and her second husband, Joseph Larkin Chandler; sisters: Dorothy Wike of Taylorsville NC, Mary Carrigan of Taylorsville NC, Betty Sherlin of Barnardsville NC, Myrtle Brown of Asheville NC; brother, David McKinney of Asheville NC; stepson, Gary Melvin Moore of Greenville, SC; and great-grandson, Blake Landon Moore.

Surviving are her children: Freddy Dean Moore (Amy) of FL, Billie Jean McKinney Hollifield of Hendersonville NC, Tom James Franklin Moore of Marcelina, MO, Pamela Lou Ellen Moore of Candler, NC, Carson Dean Moore of Asheville, NC, and Geneva “little” Elaine Parker (Roger) of Marshall, NC; step-daughter, Debbie Fowler (Bruce) of Asheville, NC; 10 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Mae Maynor of Barnardsville, NC, Gladys McKinney of Asheville, NC, Eleanor McKinney of Asheville, NC; brothers: Sam McKinney (Madge) of Asheville, NC, and James Edney McKinney (Peggy Sue) of Arden, NC.
