ARDEN - GENEVA ETHEL LUTHER, 88, OF 42 NEW ROCKWOOD RD. LOT 4, DEARLY BELOVED WENT OF BE WITH THE LORD ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 18, 2000 IN ST. JOSEPHS HOSPITAL. SHE WAS A NATIVE OF MADISON COUNTY AND HAD RESIDED IN BUNCOMBE COUNTY FOR MOST OF HER LIFE. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF FRIENDSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH ON HAYWOOD STREET. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE ROBERT NEWTON AND SARAH JANE PARKER PINKERTON AND WAS THE WIFE OF THE LATE EMMERY PAUL LUTHER FOR 59 YEARS. SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY 5 BROTHERS. SURVIVING ARE HER DAUGHTERS, ROSA LEE WILLIAMS OF CANDLER, MARY LEE HATTON AND EULA MAE GRIMES BOTH OF ARDEN; SISTERS, NELL WILLIAMS OF ARDEN, AND RUBY WATTS OF NEWPORT, TN; BROTHER, DUTCH PINKERTON OF CANDLER; 5 GRANDCHILDREN, 7 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2 PM SUNDAY IN THE ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL WITH THE REV. KEITH WATKINS OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN FOREST LAWN MEMORIAL PARK. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FROM 7 TO 9 PM SATURDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME AND AT OTHER TIMES WILL BE AT HER RESIDENCE. SHE WAS CHERISHED AND DEARLY LOVED BY FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
