Geneva Ballew "Sue" King

Woodfin - Geneva Sue Ballew King, 77, of Woodfin, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday March 10, 2004, at Emerald Ridge Care Facility, where she had resided for the last 3 years. Special appreciation goes to her very special friends Norma and Junior and all the great staff at Emerald Ridge for the love, care and support that was given during the last 3 years. Born in Madison County and residing in Buncombe County for the last 50 years, she worked at Gordon Furniture Co. and Drexel Furniture Co. in Asheville and Old Fort until retiring in 1991. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus E. King; father, Jessie F. Ballew; mother, Bertha R. Ballew and brothers, Eugene Ballew and Ray Ballew. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Woods Hawkins and Randy of Asheville; son and daughter-in-law, Larry K. King and Lynn of Woodfin; sisters, Lois Ingle of Oteen, Ruby Price of Hot Springs, Wilda Frisbee of Asheville and Thelma Rice of Mars Hill; 5 granddaughters and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Garry Rogers and Danny Little officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
