Asheville – Fred “Freddie” Wallace Sales, 73, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the Elizabeth House. A native and resident for most of his life of Buncombe County, he retired following many years with Ford Dealerships as a Sales Representative and also a retired member of Reynolds Volunteer Fire Department. Following retirement, he worked part time for Quality Plus in the Reynolds Community. Mr. Sales was a son of the late Fred Elmer Sales and Clara Mae Sweet Sales and husband of Hester Ann Shuler Sales who died September 25, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas B. Sales. Surviving are his daughter, Susan Sales Weaver (Michael) of Leicester; son, Samuel Sales (Christy) of Fairview; former wife and caregiver, Frances O. Rucker of Swannanoa; step children, Deana Hall, Misty Dawn Jones (Branden) and Darrell Jones, II (Tara), and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, July 10, 2021 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. James Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
