FAIRVIEW- FRED W. CASPARI, JR. ("TED") DIED SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2000 AT HOME WITH HIS NIECE, PAT, AND HER HUSBAND, DICK BROOKS. HE WAS 88. HE WAS BORN IN BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, AND LIVED MOST OF HIS LIFE THERE. A GRADUATE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, TED WORKED FOR COCA-COLA FROM HIS YOUTH UNTIL RETIREMENT FROM THAT COMPANY. DURING WORLD WAR II HE SERVED IN THE IN THE U.S. ARMY, AND WAS STATIONED IN NEW GUINEA. HE AND HIS LATE WIFE, RUTH , THEN LIVED IN TOWSON, MARYLAND, UNTIL HER OWN EXTENDED ILLNESS REQUIRED A TEN-YEAR NURSING HOME STAY. THEY NEVER HAD CHILDREN. HE IS THE SON OF THE LATE FRED W. CASPARI, SR AND THE LATE ISABELLE BARRON CASPARI. IN 1990 TED HAD A MASSIVE STROKE AT HIS APARTMENT IN REISTERSTOWN, MARYLAND. HE WAS NOT FOUND UNTIL THREE DAYS LATER, PERMANENTLY PARALYZED ON THE LEFT SIDE. A LIFETIME SKEPTIC, HE CAME TO A SAVING KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS CHRIST DURING THE SEVEN WEEKS IN TWO HOSPITALS IN BALTIMORE. FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS HE WAS A PATIENT AT WILLIAM HILL MANOR IN EASTON, MARYLAND. ON MARCH OF 1991 HE WAS FLOWN TO NORTH CAROLINA TO BE NEAR HIS NIECE AND HER FAMILY. HE STAYED AT GIVENS ESTATES UNTIL OCTOBER 2, 2000, WHEN HE CAME HOME TO LIVE WITH THE BROOKS. THEIR OWN FAMILY, WITH THREE SONS AND DAUGHTER, SPOUSES, AND GRANDCHILDREN, NUMBERS 25. THE ONLY OTHER SURVIVING RELATIVES ARE PATS BROTHER, BILL ODONOVAN, WIFE, AND TWO DAUGHTERS (ONE MARRIED WITH TWO CHILDREN), MISSIONARIES IN EAST AFRICA. A PRIVATE FAMILY PRAYER SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME IN ASHEVILLE. INTERMENT WILL BE AT DULANEY VALLEY MEMORIAL GARDENS IN COCKEYSVILLE, MARYLAND. MEMORIALS MAY BE SENT TO CORAL RIDGE MINISTRIES, 5555 FEDERAL HIGHWAY, FORT LAUDERDALE FLORIDA, 33302.
