Fred S. Hart

Asheville - Fred S. Hart, 83, of 8 Auburndale Dr. formerly of 516 Westwood Place died Monday, November 4, 2002 at the Brian Center, Weaverville. A native of Buncombe County, he had lived in Flint, MI for 27 years before returning to Buncombe County. He retired from General Motors in 1981 and he had attended Westwood Baptist Church. Mr. Hart was the son of the late Harrison William and Josie Burnette Hart. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Nellie Freeman, brothers, Paul and Harry Hart, sister-in-law, Irene Hart, and special friend. Riley Plemmons. Surviving are his daughter with whom he made his home, Mary Jo Jarvis and husband Paul K. Jarvis; grandchildren, Derick Jarvis and wife June, Danny Jarvis and wife Lori and Michelle Wills and husband Tom; great grandchildren, Jessica, Kelsey and Jenna Jarvis, Sierra and Kenyon Wills; special niece, Pat Heffelfinger; special nephews, Clyde and Phillip Freeman. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. James Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 AM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made to the Activity Fund of the Alzheimers Wing of the Brian Center, 78 Weaver Blvd., Weaverville, NC 28778.
